At its July 14 meeting the Jesup Community School District Board of Directors unanimously adopted the board's legislative priorities and approved a first reading of Policy Primer updates before moving into a closed session for the superintendent's annual review.
Director Trumbauer moved to approve the legislative priorities and Director Miller seconded; the motion passed with all present directors voting aye. Later in the meeting Director Trumbauer moved and Director Youngblut seconded approval of the first reading of Policy Primer updates (Volume 33, #3 and #4); that motion also carried unanimously.
On a motion by Director Trumbauer, seconded by Director Youngblut, the board voted to enter closed session under Iowa Code 21.5(1)(i) for the superintendent's annual review; the minutes record ayes from Clayberg, Miller, Trumbauer and Youngblut. The board entered closed session at 7:11 p.m. and re-entered open session at 8:13 p.m. The meeting concluded when Director Youngblut moved to adjourn, Director Miller seconded, and Vice President Clayberg declared the meeting adjourned at 8:13 p.m.
The minutes record the vote to enter closed session and the statutory citation but do not disclose the content of closed-session discussions, consistent with state law protections for personnel evaluations.
