Hayden staff say Ramsey/Honeysuckle roundabout work continues; portable signal rental approved, setup pending

Council received updates on the Ramsey/Honeysuckle roundabout construction and related traffic controls. Staff told the council they recognized the potential for detour impacts and at the previous meeting sought approval for one set of portable traffic signals at Hayden and Ramsey for use during construction. The contract for the portable signal rental went out last week but materials were not yet on site; staff said the lights will be set up as soon as possible and that the minimum rental (two months) is estimated to cost about $25,000.
Staff also updated the council on Reed Road water‑line work on the west side of town that will continue for a few more weeks, upcoming chip‑seal projects primarily on the west side of the highway and a pre‑construction meeting scheduled soon. The council requested staff provide timing for the portable‑signal installation once a date is available.
The city also reminded the public of the Prairie‑Rathdrum transportation plan public meeting on July 8 at the county fairgrounds (4:30–7:00 p.m.) and noted other calendar items including a moved Veterans Commission meeting and city‑hall closure on July 3.
