Kelley council approves consent agenda, vendor claims and routine permits

The Kelley City Council approved its consent agenda and a series of routine actions during a Sept. 10 meeting called to order by Mayor Rick Terrones.

The council voted 5-0 to approve the consent agenda, which the minutes list as including the meeting agenda, minutes from the Aug. 13 meeting and claims “totaling $19,655.96” including payroll. City Clerk Jennifer Davies presented the vendor-detail report, which lists vendor charges totaling $19,515.99; the council approved payment on a 5-0 vote.

Why it matters: the consent agenda bundles routine approvals that authorize city spending and contracts and confirm financial records. The meeting’s claims and payroll approvals keep city operations funded and enable vendors and contractors to proceed.

Among the routine items approved were continued propane service with Key Cooperative (moved by Council member Kelly Netcott, seconded by Brendan Burtnett; approved 5-0) and renewal of the liquor license for R Place Pub and Pizza (moved by Ben Adams, seconded by Brendan Burtnett; approved 5-0). The council also approved Resolution #6 waiving the city’s right of review for a subdivision at 52724 280th St—land outside the city limits but within Kelley’s two-mile review area (moved by Jackie Sapp, seconded by Ben Adams; approved 5-0).

Council set a public hearing for Oct. 8, 2024 on FY2025 Budget Amendment #1 and discussed upcoming community events, including a citywide garage sale on Sept. 28 and Kelley’s 150th anniversary in 2025. Council adjourned at 8:53 p.m.
