Grundy Center — Representatives from Heart of Iowa updated the City Council on Sept. 8 that the city's fiber‑optic installation is in its final stages.
Mayor Paul Eberline introduced Jay Duncan and Nathan Butler of Heart of Iowa, who said the main fiber crew has completed the primary construction and is finishing restoration work. They reported that installers have approximately 300 parcels left to service and projected completion of the parcel installs in the first week of October. The meeting record states that the main storage facility on F Avenue has been set up and electricians will finish equipment installation soon; phase‑one customers should receive new service when those steps are complete.
The update was informational; no council action was required. Residents with questions about schedule or service activation were not recorded as speaking during the update.
