The Town of Sellersburg council on June 22 voted to accept the Plum Ridge (sometimes referred to in the record as Plum Run) sanitary sewer lift station into the municipal sewer system.
Jenny Martinez, identified in the meeting as property manager for Plum Ridge Apartments, appeared to represent the development and answered council questions about the installation. Staff and the wastewater director reported the station was constructed to town specifications, inspected by the wastewater team, and approved for operation and monitoring.
Town Manager Charlie told the council the transfer means the developer paid to construct the station and the town will assume ownership, operation, and maintenance going forward. Council discussion included confirmation the station was built around 2020; a council member summarized that it would be transferred "at no cost to the town of Sellersburg." The motion to accept the lift station carried by voice vote.
Next steps: the acceptance will be recorded with the town's utility accounts and the town will begin routine maintenance and monitoring responsibilities.
