Madelia City Council approves consent items, payables and zoning changes

At its June 23 meeting the Madelia City Council unanimously approved consent items and payables totaling $166,688.51, authorized a $50,728.10 pay request to Traut Companies for well work, approved multiple actions to Section 12 (Signs) of Ordinance 153, granted a variance for 104 Gage Ave SE, and approved a land transfer to Enterprise Inc.
The Madelia City Council on June 23 approved routine consent items and a check register totaling $166,688.51, and carried a series of unanimous motions on infrastructure, zoning and a land transfer.
The council approved Pay Request No. 7 to Traut Companies for $50,728.10 to cover work on Well No. 4 and Well No. 6; the project was recorded in the minutes as 92% complete and the payment was approved by a unanimous vote. The council also reviewed a check register that included payments to Bolton and Menk ($40,920.00), Hawkins Inc. ($14,731.32) and multiple other vendors, for a total of $166,688.51.
Council members approved three consecutive motions affecting Section 12 (Signs) of Ordinance 153. First, the council approved an amendment to Section 12; then members approved a motion to repeal Section 12 from Ordinance 153; and finally the council approved a motion to replace Section 12. All three motions were recorded as passing with all members voting yes.
The council granted a variance request for 104 Gage Ave SE filed by Tyler Ardolf. The motion to approve the variance was moved by Glen Christensen, seconded by Matt Gunderson and passed unanimously.
Council members approved a land transfer (from 2001) of Parcel 17.278.0290 to Enterprise Inc. That motion passed with a unanimous vote.
With no further business, the council voted to adjourn.
