York Public Schools board approves 2025–26 option enrollment resolution, band trip and teacher contract

The York Public Schools Board of Education on Oct. 14 approved an Option Enrollment Resolution for the 2025–26 school year, authorized a York High School band trip to Kansas City and approved a second-semester teacher contract for Taylor Ground.

Brien Alley, board member, moved to approve the Option Enrollment Resolution for 2025–26; Alison North, board member, seconded the motion. The board approved the resolution by roll call: Alley, North, Alex Hildebrand and Pepper Papineau voted yes (4–0).

Alison North, board member, moved and Alex Hildebrand, board member, seconded approval of payment of bills and checks; the motion passed by roll call (4–0). The board also approved the Sept. 23, 2024 meeting minutes on a 4–0 roll call vote after a motion by Alison North and second by Alex Hildebrand.

The board considered a request for the York High School band to travel out of state to Kansas City May 22–24, 2025. Alison North moved to approve the trip and Alex Hildebrand seconded. The board approved the out‑of‑state travel by roll call (4–0).

Brien Alley moved and Alison North seconded approval of a 2024–25 second‑semester teacher contract for Taylor Ground at A‑0; the board approved the contract by roll call (4–0).

The board acknowledged the posted Open Meetings Act notice and verified that publication of notice was completed (verification published Oct. 1, 2024). Administrators noted a September budget update and a YPS transportation update were on the agenda; no substantive discussion or decisions about those reports are recorded in the minutes.
