The Bernalillo Governing Body voted April 8 to hire two new town employees and to approve $405,265.09 in accounts payable.
Troy Martinez, the towns human resources director, told the council the hiring committee recommended Emilia Hernandez-Gomez for Motor Vehicle Clerk and Venessa Misquez for Utility Billings Clerk. Councilor Prairie moved to approve both hires; Councilor Jaramillo seconded each motion and both carried unanimously. The council recorded no opposing votes; Councilor Sisneros was absent from the meeting.
Mayor June Toy Torres then asked the council to approve the accounts payable voucher list totaling $405,265.09. Councilor Jaramillo moved to approve the voucher list; Councilor Prairie seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
The actions were routine personnel and financial approvals placed on the consent-style portion of the agenda. No public comment was recorded on the items. The meeting adjourned at 6:48 P.M.
