Connersville Parks Board approves Fair Board contract revisions, forwards fee ordinance to City Council and updates pool policy

The Fair Board contract revision clarified how utility costs for multi-day use are itemized and billed. Fair Board representatives asked for a clear distinction between pool usage and fair-related use on Duke Energy bills and requested meter numbers and day-by-day charges. President Amy Hammons said the board would mark and initial the agreed wording at the meeting; Angie McMullen moved to accept the revision and Julie Fisher seconded. The board voted unanimously to approve the revision and sign the contract that evening.
On the fee schedule, the board approved language changes that replace the phrase “holiday weekend” with an explicit $65-per-hour holiday rate and add pool cabanas, 2nd Street Park shelters and Offutt’s Park shelter to the schedule. The board approved forwarding the ordinance to City Council for final action; Angie McMullen moved to approve the ordinance and Vane Lashua seconded.
The board also approved the Roberts Park Family Aquatic Center facility policy update to add cabana rental and usage terms; Angie McMullen moved the motion and Julie Fisher seconded. The board approved claims and payroll and reappointed the 2025 officers for 2026 (keeping Amy Hammons as president and Angie McMullen as vice president). The board set 2026 meeting dates for March 30, May 26 and Oct. 26.
