Village Inn seeks board consensus for July 11 car and motorcycle show; board gives preliminary OK

Jessica, representing the Village Inn Bar & Grill, told the Monee Board of Trustees the business plans a car and motorcycle show for Saturday, July 11 from 1 to 6 p.m., with a band from 3 to 6 p.m. and a $10 entry fee for participants. She said proceeds from the entry fee will go to the police and fire departments and that organizers have begun neighbor outreach.

"I'm Jessica. I'll be representing the Village Inn Bar and Grill," she said during the public‑comment period, asking the board for a consensus so organizers could move forward with advertising and permitting. Organizers said vehicle entry would close at 3 p.m., with band music later in the afternoon, and that they are discussing overflow parking with a nearby church and coordinating cleanup plans after the event.

Police representatives said they have been in contact with organizers and do not oppose the event; the chief said the department can work with the organizers to maintain public access to the station and accommodate motorcycle parking, calling the plan "not a problem for the police department." The board indicated a consensus in favor of the event, with the understanding a formal permit will follow and police, EMA and staff will help coordinate logistics.

The item will return for final permitting and any required formal vote; organizers were advised to complete neighbor outreach and submit the event permit application to the police department and village staff.
