The Hobart City Redevelopment Authority granted a late request to allow a downtown film production to use public sidewalks and streets for daytime filming March 22–25, with the board emphasizing coordination with police and pedestrian accommodations.
Chair (S3) moved to allow the downtown shoot and the board approved the motion by voice vote. City staff and board members discussed logistical limits: the applicant will avoid driving on the state route, will use sidewalks to stage extras, and will keep the police department apprised to prevent conflicts. ‘‘Keep the police department apprised to what you’re doing so you don’t run into a problem,’’ one board member said.
The motion authorizes the production to film in front of Montego Bay during daytime hours; board members noted the downtown location is picturesque and encouraged staff to work with the production on safety and pedestrian flow.
