CONNERSVILLE — The Connersville Parks and Recreation Board on March 30 approved a new limit on sports scholarships and completed routine business including approval of claims and payroll.
Parks Superintendent Marla Steele told the board the department received its largest number of sports-scholarship applications to date but that available endowment funds are limited. The board voted to cap scholarships at five awards per sport, restricted to one child per family per year; application deadlines were set two weeks before registration and three weeks before the Park Board meeting.
President Amy Hammons moved to approve the scholarship policy as described; Angie McMullen seconded and Rob Ball signed the motion; the board recorded the vote as unanimous (‘all in favor, motion approved’).
The board also approved claims and payroll after a motion by Amy Hammons, a second by Rob Ball and a supporting second by Ann Kirschner; the transcript records the approval as unanimous. The meeting concluded after a motion to adjourn passed unanimously.
