Assistant Superintendent Kelly Moffett told the board that Living Well, Aging Well programming will continue through the summer and that Water Yoga for adults returns Monday, June 1 at 6 p.m. at a $5 admission. Moffett said volunteer instructors will pause while Summer Discovery runs and some fall activities will be planned when they return.
Moffett said Rec & Connect will keep open gym volleyball nights and will add late-night swimming on Thursdays from 9 to 11 p.m. for adults 18 and over at a discounted $4 admission.
Parks Sports Director Logan Neukam reported the sports season had a challenging opening on May 23 because fields flooded, but volunteers set up in time for ceremonies. He said Kid’s Pitch baseball is scheduled for Thursday evenings at 5:30 p.m., T-ball and softball games are Sundays at 1 p.m., spring soccer wrapped up May 21, Church League Softball registrations are open (deadline May 29) with six teams currently registered, and Co-Ed League registration is open with a July 10 deadline. Neukam also said Summer Discovery camp began May 26 with 75 children enrolled.
The board noted the Pizza Place will provide concessions, and that Summer Discovery food service will be provided by Chartwells with costs covered by Reid, according to board discussion.
