Longswamp Township park board pre‑approves holiday lighting purchases, sets 2025–2026 event dates

The Longswamp Township Park and Recreation Board on Nov. 18 pre-approved small expenditures for the community Christmas Tree Lighting, recorded dates for several 2025–2026 events and accepted a donated popcorn machine for park activities.

At an 8 p.m. meeting attended by Leann, Tyrene, Allison, Kaitey, Kristina and Mike (B.O.S.), the board approved the minutes and heard a supervisor report noting that parking-lot repaving is scheduled to be completed before next year’s Swamp Fest and that the roof on Pavilion 1 has been finished. The board also discussed replacing banners and designing T-shirts in connection with the America 250 observance.

The board recorded event dates: the Great Pumpkin Hunt on Oct. 4, 2025; the Christmas Tree Lighting on Dec. 6, 2025 (volunteers to arrive at 10 a.m. to decorate); and an Egg Hunt on March 28, 2026. For the Dec. 6 tree-lighting, the board voted to pre-authorize purchases: up to $90 for shop lights (motion moved by Kristina, seconded by Leann) and up to $55 for cords and bolts (motion moved by Tyrene, seconded by Kristina). The minutes record the motions and seconds but do not list a roll-call tally.

Under new business, the board acknowledged a donation from Jacob’s Church of a popcorn machine for use at park events. The meeting closed at 8:45 p.m. on a motion moved by Kristina and seconded by Kaitey. Kristina DiGiampaolo, the board secretary, submitted the minutes and the board scheduled its next meeting for Dec. 16, 2025.
