Borough Manager Elaina Skiba told council on Nov. 19 that several properties are currently listed through the borough’s land bank and others are at various stages of sheriff sale. Properties cited as listed or acquired include 435 Iowa Ave., 310 N. Monongahela Ave., 316 5th St., 626 Ohio Ave., and 401 Euclid Ave.; additional properties are awaiting sheriff sale.
Skiba said a state grant application for $1 million from the Local Share Account Fund was submitted to support continued renovations and updates to the borough’s new building. "Thank you to our State Representative Nick Pisciottano who was able to secure us $850,000 for continued renovations and updates to our new building," Skiba said during the report.
Council also adopted two resolutions under the Vacant Property Recovery Program approving acquisition of Parcel No. 558‑H‑055 and Parcel No. 558‑H‑049 to Harold Case; both resolutions passed on recorded tallies of 6–0 with one absent. Council voted to enter an agreement with Neighborhood Realty Services to list 102 Seventh Street after no bids were received on earlier advertisements.
Skiba did not provide a line‑item breakdown of how the requested $1 million would be allocated; council minutes note ongoing renovation work and fundraising efforts. The council moved on to other agenda items after adopting the resolutions.
