Rushford Village — The Rushford Village Council adopted amendments to two local ordinances at its April 1, 2025 meeting after back-to-back public hearings.
Mayor Dennis Overland opened public hearings on the Collections Ordinance #2 amendment and on Mowing Ordinance #7 before the council approved both ordinances at the regular meeting that began at 7 p.m.
The Collections Ordinance #2 amendment adds mowing of private property consistent with the city’s Mowing Ordinance #7 to Section 2 and updates a statutory reference from Minn. Stat. 436.15 to Minn. Stat. 436.25. The council approved the amendment on a motion by Travis Link, seconded by Mike Ebner; the motion carried.
The Mowing Ordinance #7 amendment sets a maximum grasses-and-weeds height of six inches on properties within applicable areas, requires owners to comply with a mailed mowing notice within seven days, and ties city mowing fees to the most recent City of Rushford Village Pay Rates and Fee Schedule for man- and machine-hours. The council approved the amendment on a motion by Mike Ebner, seconded by Rick Ruberg; the motion carried.
The public hearings for both items were closed after council discussion and no public comments were recorded in the minutes. Summaries of both ordinance amendments were also approved by motion and carried.
No effective dates for the ordinance changes were listed in the meeting record; the council did not provide an implementation timeline in the minutes. The council’s next regular meetings were listed as April 15 and May 6, 2025.
Actions recorded: Motion to approve the Collections Ordinance #2 amendment (mover: Travis Link; second: Mike Ebner; outcome: carried). Motion to approve the Mowing Ordinance #7 amendment (mover: Mike Ebner; second: Rick Ruberg; outcome: carried).
