Rushford Village accepts $48,237.70 chip-seal bid, authorizes truck quote process

The Rushford Village City Council accepted a low bid from Pearson Bros. Inc. of $48,237.70 for the 2025 chip-seal program and authorized Public Works Supervisor Trenten Chiglo to solicit quotes for an F-550 truck at its Feb. 18 meeting.
Derek Olinger of Bolton & Menk presented three bids and recommended the Pearson Bros. low bid for work covering Plummer, Prospect, Darr, portions of North Money Creek, Laura Lane, Hayes, parts of Goodrich, Sherwood and Meadow Avenue; Bolton & Menk’s own estimate for the package was $55,260.00. The minutes record the council’s motion to accept the Pearson Bros. bid as carried; the project is expected to be completed by the end of summer 2025.
Public Works Supervisor Trenten Chiglo reported operational issues (prohibiting residents from plowing snow across public roads, new cutting edges on trucks, and awaiting a response about a 3-point tree trimmer). Separately, Councilor Mike Ebner moved and the council approved allowing Chiglo to contact truck dealers and assemble a quote package for a potential F-550 purchase, with input from Pettit who plows with the vehicle. The minutes do not supply a roll-call tally for either motion.
Contract award paperwork and bid documents should reflect Pearson Bros.’ proposal amount; staff will follow up on scheduling and procurement steps before construction begins.
