Corydon authorizes staff to negotiate with TLC to inspect upcoming urban trail

The Corydon Town Council authorized staff to negotiate and execute a contract with TLC to provide inspector services for the town’s upcoming urban trail project along Chestnut Street and Mulberry.
Town staff explained that the town solicited 8–10 proposals and received three; a scoring committee made up of Sherry, Paul and Susan Mills gave TLC the highest average score. TLC also designed the project, and staff asked for authority to negotiate price and execute a contract. The council approved the motion; staff said if negotiations with TLC fail, they will move to the next-highest scoring proposer.
Why it matters: INDOT intends to put the project out for bid in November. The town must have an inspector on board beforehand to meet INDOT’s procurement and inspection requirements.
