Corydon council approves skate-park fencing and repairs using contingency funds

The project also includes a $50,000 contingency in the contract that staff said remains unspent and can be used to offset the added costs.
Why it matters: Town officials described the work as a safety priority to address cracked concrete and “dead spots” in the park surface and to reduce risks for users. Staff recommended proceeding now to avoid higher costs later and to complete work while other park improvements are under way.
Council recorded a motion and voice vote to approve the work. Staff told the council the minimum additional cost could be about $5,700 depending on final line-item allocations and any INDOT requirements for right-of-way or hydraulic analysis.
Town staff will finalize procurement and scheduling; council members asked staff to provide final contract amounts and a timeline once negotiations with vendors conclude.
