Bremer County approves routine contracts, fund transfers and opioid grant award

The board approved a transfer from the general fund to the public-health department (amount noted in the packet) and a transfer of camping-receipts to the county conservation land-acquisition fund. Separately, supervisors approved a $40,000 transfer for a cabin capital project.
The board approved renewal of a service agreement with River Center/Riverview (the contract amount increased from $1,000 to $1,500) and authorized the chair to sign an annual propane sales agreement between Farmers Wind Co-op and Brinks Landfill; staff said terms were unchanged from prior years.
On public-health and grant items, the board approved an ISAC HIPAA program subscription for FY27 at $1,750 (covers a 60-minute HIPAA 101 training, consult hours and online resources). The board also authorized the chair to sign an award letter for Bremer County opioid settlement funds: Pathways was the sole applicant and the recommended award is $12,093.35 for prevention and screening objectives in FY27; staff will return a signed agreement for the board’s signature.
The board also appointed Jen Wolfe to the regional advisory/RTC body after a member explained bylaws required either board appointment or advisory-council appointment; the motion passed by voice vote.
