Superintendent and staff recommended approval of a contract with Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services to operate the Transition Alliance Program (TAP). Trustees clarified that the district provides services and receives reimbursement (presenters cited roughly 50% reimbursement for salaries tied to TAP services). Board members discussed operational details—on-site support staff structure, work-study and job-shadow opportunities and that TAP can provide postsecondary navigation, including vocational-rehab funding for tuition in some cases.
The board also approved two School Budget Review Committee (SBRC) applications to allow special-education administrative costs to be coded to special-education funds: $38,252 for the River Hills consortium and $15,114.17 for the Lead Center consortium for the 2026–27 school year.
