The Santa Maria‑Bonita Governing Board approved on June 24 an add‑on contract with the Boys & Girls Club of Mid‑Central Coast to operate a five‑week summer program at Allan Hancock College.
Laurie Cook, presenting the item, said the contract is an addition to existing off‑site non‑school day program services and allows the club to use Allan Hancock facilities for five weeks this summer. The program can serve up to 60 students per week at a rate of $339 per student per week; billing will reflect actual student attendance and will not exceed $101,700.
Cook said the club meets district staffing ratios and safety requirements and that facilities and educational components were reviewed. Anna Levin, representing the Boys & Girls Club, thanked the district for the partnership and described programming designed to expose youth to college settings.
The motion to approve the contract was moved and seconded and passed by roll call of members present. District staff will process the contract and monitor attendance‑based billing.
