The Harrison Township Board of Commissioners reviewed a rezoning application from the local water authority on Sept. 17, 2024, asking that Parcel Id 1519-F-32 be changed from R-1 (residential) back to B-1 (business). Manager Amy Rockwell said the Township had received a letter and application from Attorney Jacques on the authority’s behalf and that the Planning Commission recommended changing the parcel back to B-1, the parcel’s original zoning.
The Board agreed to send the application to the County for review and then schedule a public hearing. Manager Rockwell said Max Junker would represent the Township at the hearing and Solicitor Mueller would represent the water authority. Commissioner James Erb noted this is the second recent example of a parcel being zoned R-1 that historically accommodated businesses, and he suggested the township evaluate the zoning map for other discrepancies.
No vote or final action occurred at the meeting; the next procedural step is county review and a public hearing before the Board will decide on any ordinance or rezoning action.
