Jamie presented a request to reallocate $1,659.81 from the Main Street facade fund to the beautification program so the city can fully fund 38 awarded projects. She said the facade program initially had $25,000 and that, after awards, a little over $5,000 remained; the beautification round produced $16,639.81 worth of project requests totaling $84,264 of property improvements.
Jamie asked that, pending Main Street's agreement to the transfer, the $1,659.81 be moved from the facade fund to the beautification fund to allow full award of all projects. A council member moved and a second was recorded; the transfer was approved by voice vote.
Council members noted the leverage of a relatively small local investment into broader private improvements downtown and expressed support for promoting the program more widely through the new Main Street director.
The transfer will be processed and awards finalized so property owners can proceed with approved improvements.
