City staffer Mr. Krauss presented the amendment and said the total cost including installation is $6,937.29 and that the city has already collected the family’s funds. Purchasing the equipment up front will allow the city to capture a 3% discount for the family, Krauss said, and staff anticipates delivery in late summer with installation soon after (likely September–October).
Council opened and closed a public hearing with no additional public speakers. Members confirmed the funds were on hand and that the purchase will conform to the city’s purchasing policy with a slight procedural change to purchase upfront so the family receives the discount. The motion to approve passed on roll call.
The approved amendment authorizes the facilities and purchasing teams to complete the procurement and installation; staff will coordinate placement within the Rotary Park playground area and confirm installation timing with the family and the vendor.
