Wallington council approves consent agenda, introduces three ordinances and appoints affordable-housing counsel

At its May 7 caucus session, the Wallington Mayor and Council approved a consent agenda, introduced three ordinances for first reading and voted to appoint affordable-housing counsel in a walk-on resolution.
Councilman Eugeniusz Rachelski moved to approve the consent agenda “En Mass,” seconded by Councilman Dennis Graham; roll call recorded Ayes from Rachelski, Justyna Marciniak, Susanne Preinfalk, Sylwia Hejzner, John Kosuda and Dennis Graham with no Nays. The consent items listed for approval included Resolution 2026-161 (authorizing closed session), Resolution 2026-163 (memorializing payment of bills), Resolution 2026-164 (appointing a tax collector), Payment No. 5 to Daskal LLC for municipal building work and Change Order No. 2 for the municipal building project.
The council introduced three ordinances by title for first reading: Ordinance 2026-12 to amend the borough code on short-term rentals (moved by Councilwoman Susanne Preinfalk; seconded by Councilman Eugeniusz Rachelski; roll call Ayes unanimous), Ordinance 2026-13 to amend Chapter 107 regarding contracted off-duty employment (moved by Councilman Rachelski; seconded by Councilwoman Sylwia Hejzner; roll call recorded Ayes from Rachelski, Preinfalk, Hejzner, Kosuda and Graham with Councilwoman Marciniak recorded as abstaining), and Ordinance 2026-14 to amend the police-department code (moved by Councilman John Kosuda; seconded by Councilman Rachelski; roll call recorded Ayes from Rachelski, Preinfalk, Hejzner, Kosuda and Graham with Marciniak abstaining).
A walk-on resolution (2026-167) appointing Richard Allen of Kipp & Allen LLC and Robert F. Simon of Herold Law as the borough’s affordable-housing attorneys was introduced and approved on a motion by Councilwoman Preinfalk, seconded by Councilman Rachelski; roll call recorded unanimous Ayes. The meeting adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
The council did not adopt the introduced ordinances at this meeting; each was introduced for first reading by title only and will return for a subsequent hearing and final vote in accordance with statutory notice requirements.
