Town says pipelines complete and grading permits received for new Hampstead water treatment plants

At the June 24 meeting the Zoning Administrator updated the commission on the town’s water system projects, reporting that pipelines for the new water distribution system are installed and have been flushed to prevent long-term standing water.
"All the pipelines are done now. They actually came in yesterday. There was water laying in the pipes ... so, they'll still have to ... be treated when they're brought back into service, but at least there's not going to be water sitting in there for 9 months," the Zoning Administrator said.
On the water treatment plant side, staff said they held a pre-construction meeting with Carroll County grading and sediment control and received the final grading permits for all four planned treatment plant locations. "Carroll County can now begin the grading," staff said, and they expect to see dirt moving by the next monthly meeting. The Zoning Administrator reiterated the contractor schedule remains on track for completion in July or August of next year.
No formal vote or further action was taken; the report was informational and staff will return with progress updates at future meetings.
