Tara Acres Unit 9 hearing left open after applicant requests postponement; residents cite septic/runoff concerns

The Town of Thompson Zoning Board of Appeals opened a public hearing on March 10 for an application to expand a nonconforming bungalow at Tara Acres Unit 9 (968 Old Liberty Road) but the applicant’s representative asked to postpone the matter until the April 14 meeting. Because legal notice had already been published, the board opened the hearing and accepted public comment before formally leaving the matter open.
Wayne Fedun told the board he was concerned that variances might be approved before septic and water runoff issues were resolved. The board received a written public comment from Walter Fedun, which was entered into the record and linked on the town’s project page.
Board members decided as a courtesy to keep both the application and the public hearing open to the April 14 meeting so the applicant may submit additional materials and the public may respond.
No vote on the underlying variances was taken at the March 10 meeting.
