Airport authority: enplanements and entitlement funds rising; runway overhaul years away

The presenter said since the commercial carrier began service the airport is trending toward pre‑COVID passenger levels and reported entitlement figures by year: $391,648 (2023), $372,482 (2024) and a projected $464,000 for 2025. The authority has installed LED airfield lighting across taxiways and tied much of the facility to a new solar system that has reduced electricity costs. Short‑term projects include refurbishing an old city building for snow equipment and improving the entrance road and parking area; the presenter said runway 12/30 is in serviceable condition now but may require reconstruction in about 10–12 years. The authority also noted growth in concessions and rental car presence and a mix of uses including flight training, air ambulance and charter services.
Council members thanked the authority for tight budget management and for expanding accessible boarding options via a new ramp; no decision items were required of the council at this meeting.
