Ocean View — The Town Council authorized two public‑works contracts: a $617,130 award to Mumford & Miller Concrete, Inc. for ADA‑compliant sidewalks and partial reconstruction of Woodland Avenue, and a $114,956.19 award to Jerry’s Inc. for mill‑and‑overlay paving on Hudson Avenue, Tingle Street and Long View Drive.
Staff said six sealed bids were received for the Woodland Avenue sidewalks contract and Mumford & Miller was the low bidder at $617,130.25; funding was available in the FY2025 capital budget (approximately $795,330). Staff recommended awarding the contract to the low bidder after a bid-review summary by the town’s construction manager and the engineering consultant.
For the FY2026 paving contract, five sealed bids were opened and Jerry’s Inc. submitted the low bid at $114,956.19. Staff noted some previous project management concerns with Jerry’s on prior work but said the firm’s work product had been acceptable in the past and that for a relatively small three‑street project staff felt confident the company would meet expectations after renewed discussions with its management team. Council authorized both contracts.
Staff said both contracts will be administered by the town construction manager and paid from the indicated capital and street‑repair trust funds; contractors will receive notice to proceed after the town manager executes the agreements.
