Rushford Village council approves $535.40 advertising contribution to R-P Valley Chamber

The Rushford Village City Council voted Jan. 21 to approve a $535.40 contribution to the R-P Valley Chamber’s 2025 advertising fund.
At the annual meeting, Stephanie Eggert of the R-P Valley Chamber described the chamber’s advertising plan for 2025, saying the campaign will include websites, travel guides, metal highway signs, radio spots and printed programs. Eggert noted membership revenue was “down about $1,000” last year and said the chamber promotes local events and reaches out to area businesses. Council member Robert Hart asked what the village would receive in return and how the chamber markets individual Rushford Village businesses; Eggert said Rushford Village is included in all chamber advertising and encouraged cities to use the chamber website to promote local events.
Mayor Dennis Overland said the contribution represented a good return for the city. After discussion, the council approved the request (motion by Hart; second by Link). The contribution will be used only for the advertising actually placed on behalf of the R-P Valley area, the chamber said.
The council approved the motion with no further conditions. The R-P Valley Chamber annual meeting was noted as March 6, 2025 at the Rushford Legion; Eggert said there is no cost to attend this year.
