Crawford County approves ImageTrend for EMS software as director seeks replacements for aging cots

The Crawford County Board of County Commissioners voted June 9 to adopt ImageTrend as the county’s emergency medical services (EMS) software.
EMS Director Michael Burnett told commissioners several ambulance cots “are too old” to be serviced and said new units run roughly $40,000 to $50,000 each. Burnett said bidders will be invited to present options, including lease-purchase arrangements, as the department assesses replacement paths.
Burnett also reiterated that moving the department’s billing and records management to a different vendor would not require new onboard hardware and, based on the proposals he reviewed, would reduce annual software costs by about $22,500 compared with staying with the current vendor. Commissioners asked whether the new software would interoperate with dispatch, the sheriff’s office and fire departments; Burnett said the chosen system is computer-based and would work with existing equipment.
On the motion (26-270) of Commissioner Carl Wood, seconded by Commissioner Tom Moody, the board approved use of ImageTrend for EMS software. Yeas: Commissioners Wood, Moody and Blair. Nays: none.
County officials said they will continue to evaluate replacement options for the cots and consider financing mechanisms if needed. The board did not set a specific procurement date at the June 9 meeting.
