Crown Point board clears event permits, contracts and equipment purchases including MPI marketing agreement

At its May 6 meeting, the Crown Point Board of Public Works & Safety approved a package of routine permits, contracts and equipment purchases for city departments and community partners.
The Board approved Donna Pace’s request to display signs and banners for New Leash on Life’s "Tails on the Trails" 5k/2k dog walk on June 6, 2026, and granted Margie Hofman permission for the Crown Point American Legion Auxiliary Unit 20 to hold a Poppy Day collection at Main and South on Friday, May 15, 2026. The Board approved a request from the Lake County Historical Society for sound and a temporary road closure to host a Flag Day reading at the Tank on June 14, 2026.
Contracts reviewed and approved included an Agile IT Microsoft 365 licensing agreement and a Phil & Sons alarm and security monitoring contract for the HIDTA facility; both had been reviewed by General Counsel. Communications Director Mary Freda‑Flores presented a 2026 agreement with Marketing Partnerships International (MPI) for $21,075 to cover digital, radio, billboard and streaming audio advertising for several city campaigns, which the Board approved.
The Board also approved EMA assistance for the Regional Streeters’ Cobe Cup Cruise on May 23, 2026, and approved adding Dan Cronin to EMA’s roster following background and drug screening. PACE Director Adam Graper received approval to purchase a 2026 Ford Ranger XL from Smith Ford for $34,366.00 and to acquire a HYSTER H60A forklift from ALTA Material Handling at a promotional price of $35,825.17 (20% discount). The Board approved a proposed Memorandum of Understanding for the City’s Mobile Sensory Hub pending final legal review, and approved a 3‑year NinjaOne RMM agreement at a locked annual rate of $6,948 plus six months added to the contract term.
All motions on these items passed by unanimous voice vote. Items that required further legal detail, such as the Sensory Hub MOU, were approved contingent on final legal review.
