The Clover School District Board approved a one-time sick-leave payout for employees whose sick leave exceeded 90 days, a recurring annual practice the district staff presented for board authorization.
Mr. Love explained the program and asked the board to authorize the payout at the rates used in prior years — $100 per day for certified staff and $50 per day for support staff — and said the estimated cost this year is $103,000 covering roughly 140 employees. "For several years, we have paid those staff members who have lost sick leave days for the amount that exceeded 90 days," Mr. Love said.
The chair asked for questions; none were raised, and the board approved the payment without objection. Mr. Love said staff will seek to include the item in the next year’s budget documents as a special line item for future consideration.
