District Operations Manager Shane Willis presented the long‑term traffic‑calming plan and cost estimates. Eric Long, PSGRC general manager, told the board the existing unit recorded about 800 varied speeding violations over a three‑week period and suggested relocating an existing unit 20 to 30 yards to improve detection; staff said relocating that unit will require purchasing a pole at roughly $1,200.
Board members discussed proposed installation areas, the $150,000 line in the broader traffic‑calming budget, and whether the homeowners association should assume ongoing cloud‑device costs, which are estimated at $1,500 per device per year. On motion by Chair Bob Schultz, seconded by Assistant Secretary Kurt Blumenthal, the board approved the AV‑Tech proposals with all in favor.
The approval authorizes wiring and installation of the signs and messaging, procurement of a mobile unit, and annual cloud-device fees. The board did not adopt a separate funding source at the meeting; staff indicated budgeted traffic‑calming funds exist and will be used.
