Premier Lakes reports reduced compressor noise but tone persists; plantings in Lake E4-A delayed after Edgewater concerns

Bill Kurth of Premier Lakes reported to the River Ridge CDD on July 23 that the district’s lakes, preserves and dry retention areas are generally in good condition but that seasonal algae presence is expected. He said a cabinet installed around the Masters Lake compressor reduced measured sound levels from about 64 decibels to about 52 decibels at a point midway between the compressor and the screen line.
Operations Manager Shane Willis said the reduction in decibel level addresses volume but not the tone produced by the aerator, which remains noticeable. The board discussed moving the compressor and the related easement issues. Mr. Willis said he will coordinate with Bill and Alex Kurth to consider relocating the compressor and will report findings at the next meeting.
Mr. Schultz summarized additional issues reported in the Edgewater area, including flooding and possible piping and littoral planting solutions. The Board and Premier Lakes agreed that Canna lilies should not be planted and decided to delay plantings in Lake E4-A until an agreement is reached with the Edgewater Condo Association; staff will resubmit planting proposals when there is a path forward.
Kurth also reported that a shoreline palm at Lake E7A was removed and that plantings are scheduled to be installed in the near future once the Edgewater question is resolved. Kurth left the meeting after his report.
