River Ridge CDD sets goals and performance measures to comply with new state law (HB7013)

The River Ridge Community Development District board unanimously approved a Goals and Objectives package and a Performance Measures & Annual Reporting form to comply with recently adopted state legislation, HB7013.
District Counsel Tony Pires, Mrs. Adams and District Manager Chuck Adams explained the law requires special districts to establish annual goals and measurable performance standards and to post the initial report online. "Newly adopted legislation requires special districts to establish and report annual goals and objectives and develop performance measures and standards to assess the achievement of the goals and objectives," Mr. Pires said.
The board identified three focus categories for FY2025: Community Communication and Engagement, Infrastructure and Facilities Maintenance, and Financial Transparency and Accountability. The board added the initial report to the Key Activity Dates list; the report is due Dec. 1, 2025. The board approved the forms on a motion by Mr. Blumenthal, seconded by Mr. Twombly, with all in favor.
Staff will be responsible for preparing and posting the required report to the CDD website and tracking the district’s performance against the measures approved by the board.
