Dunnigan listed the uses to be excluded from the C-1 designation: cemeteries, contractor facilities, antennas or cellular towers, gas stations and RV parks.
The motion to approve passed with five votes in favor and one opposed. The recorded vote was AYES — Gabrielle Nelson, Thomas Barbee, Mark Stephens, Rufus Bright and Shawn Randerwala; NAYES — ArtLise Alston-Cone. The motion was moved by Council Member Thomas Barbee and seconded by Council Member Mark Stephens.
Next steps: With second-reading approval recorded in the minutes, the zoning designation change takes effect per the city’s established procedures; the council did not record additional conditions beyond those the planner recommended.
