Bradley County Commission upholds existing Urban Growth Boundary after public hearing

The Bradley County Commission held a public hearing Jan. 21 on a recommendation from the Growth Policy Coordinating Ad Hoc Committee to leave the county's Urban Growth Boundary (UGB) unchanged. Chairman Thomas L. Crye opened the hearing and asked for public input; no speakers were recorded during the hearing.
Following the hearing, Commissioner Cindy Slater moved to approve the committee's recommendation. The commission approved the motion by roll-call vote: 13 in favor and 1 opposed (Commissioner Josh Rogers recorded a "nay"). The commission's action adopted the committee's recommendation as presented and was recorded in the meeting minutes.
The UGB decision was listed on the meeting agenda as Item B; the accompanying record shows the committee's recommendation and the commission's adoption of that recommendation. The public hearing had been opened and closed at the meeting with no public testimony entered into the record.
The commission adjourned at 1:07 P.M. EST following the UGB vote and routine closing business.
