The actions came at a short session at the Calhoun County Courthouse in Rockwell City where all three supervisors — Chairman Dave George, Vice Chairman Cory Ridgely and member Scott Jacobs — were present. The board approved changes to the agenda at the start of the meeting and then voted unanimously on a series of routine items.
Kristi Johnson, the county human resources director, presented an agreement with Stewart Memorial Community Hospital for occupational health services. The board authorized the chair to sign the agreement after a motion by Scott Jacobs and a second by Cory Ridgely; the motion carried with all votes recorded as "ayes."
Curtis Vanderheiden, the county conservation director, presented a quote for brush control. The board approved the FY 2025–26 brush control contract by unanimous vote.
The board also approved the Veterans Affairs quarterly report covering Jan. 1 through March 31, 2025. A presentation or request from Renee Stauter of Mid Iowa Insurance was deferred to the board's April 8 meeting.
During the public-comment portion, Pat Moore spoke about a property at 7570 Twin Lakes Road in Manson; the transcript records the comment but no formal action on the property was taken at the April 1 meeting.
The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn and the board set its next regular meeting for Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.
