Purdue Extension County Agent Director Chelsea Brewer asked the Dubois County Commissioners on June 2 to restructure Extension support staff by eliminating a vacant Administrative Assistant position and creating a second Program Assistant position that would require bilingual proficiency.
Brewer said the Administrative Assistant duties would shift to the Office Manager and the new bilingual Program Assistant would collaborate with Purdue and ALASI to deliver programming and outreach tailored to the county’s growing Hispanic population and support Junto 4‑H club activities. Christian Blome and Rossina Sandoval, representing ALASI, attended the meeting and voiced support for the proposal.
Commissioners accepted job descriptions and said they would review the request and make a determination at the June 16 meeting at 11:00 a.m.
