Roger Pund, representing the Property Rights Alliance, presented a resolution opposing the Mid-States Corridor at the Dubois County Council meeting on June 23. Council members opened the floor for public comment.
Several residents submitted materials and spoke in opposition. Mark Nowotarski provided a packet opposing the corridor. Theresa Kendall, Bob Pfister and Tom Bartelt expressed concerns focused on access points, safety issues, loss of family farms and potential effects of a bypass on local cities. Sue Krampe invited interested residents to attend Property Rights Alliance meetings at the Schnitzelbank restaurant in Jasper every other Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
The minutes record that the public was thanked for their comments and that no action was taken on the resolution during the meeting.
