Clarkfield council adopts annual designations, budget transfers and kennel contract; meeting schedule set

Mayor Darrin Johnson read Resolution 2026-1, which includes the proposed change to meeting frequency and a shift to the first Monday of the month; Councilmember Lisa Tilney moved adoption, Councilmember Kevin Kaatz seconded, and the motion carried. The council also read and approved Resolution 2026-2 (2025 end-of-fiscal-year designations) and Resolution 2026-3 (budgeted transfers), each carried on council motions recorded in the minutes.
The council then approved a kennel contract as Action Item D on a motion by Kevin Kaatz, seconded by Lisa Tilney. The minutes record that the motions "carried" but do not include roll-call tallies or contractor specifics for the kennel contract in the transcript. City Administrator Jonathan Pierce also reminded the council that the Outstanding Indebtedness Report is due to the county auditor on Feb. 1 and noted administrative items including the loading of the 2026 budget into Banyon software and an upcoming League of Minnesota Cities training.
