Ocean View — IQ Fiber told the town council it will be deploying 100% fiber Internet service in the area and that it will coordinate construction and permits with town staff before working in neighborhoods.
Mark Wagner, vice president for new markets, said the company’s build uses a trunk‑and‑branch model with directional boring to minimize disruption. Wagner said IQ Fiber is a certified utility that will work on DelDOT roads and that the company will meet with HOAs and the Department of Public Works before entering neighborhoods. "We will not go anywhere prior to getting all of this stuff and agree," Wagner said, adding the company runs its own customer‑service call center and does not charge for equipment.
Wagner said IQ Fiber provides only Internet service (no traditional cable TV) and emphasized symmetrical speeds, low latency and a subscription model that allows customers to start and stop service seasonally. Council staff advised that prior to any work in incorporated sections the company must contact the planning office for licensing and permitting.
What’s next: IQ Fiber said it will continue discussions with town staff and present formal permit applications before construction.
