Bernalillo council hires planning director, awards $55,000 in lodgers tax and authorizes surplus vehicle sale

Surplus property: The council adopted Resolution No. 02‑25‑19 authorizing disposal and sale of a surplus 2010 Dodge Charger (VIN #2B3AA4CT7AH303130) from the Bernalillo Police Department to the Belen Police Department for $5,000. The resolution cites Sections 13‑6‑1 through 13‑6‑2 NMSA 1978 as authority for the sale; the motion passed unanimously.
Lodgers tax awards: Acting on recommendations from the Lodgers Tax board, the council approved $55,000 in awards for tourism promotion. Recommended recipients and amounts were: Farm House Ale Event — $18,250; Rio Grande Valley Celtic Festival — $8,250; 50th Sandoval County Sheriff's Posse Rodeo — $8,250; Authentic Native American Arts Association (May event at Loretto Park) — $11,250; and a memorandum of agreement with KANW (April 1, 2019–March 31, 2020) — $9,000. Routine approvals: The council approved the minutes of Feb. 11, 2019 and an accounts‑payable voucher list totaling $336,136.97.
