Bernalillo council adopts lodger's-tax and recreation budget adjustments, approves $1.02 million payments

The resolution increases projected lodger’s tax revenue from $124,000 to $194,000 (a $70,000 net increase) and reallocates funds into specific expenditure accounts, including sanitation services ($increase to $9,450), advertising (increase to $144,000) and police & fire ($increase to $13,000). Councilor Prairie moved to approve Resolution 04-22-2019; Councilor Jaramillo seconded and the resolution passed by unanimous roll-call vote.
The council also adopted Resolution 04-22-2019A to increase the Recreation budget by $4,000 to purchase sports equipment — specified as $2,000 for Little League and $2,000 for soccer — funded from cash balances. Councilor Prairie moved adoption; Councilor Jaramillo seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Mayor Torres called for approval of the accounts payable voucher list in the amount of $1,024,215.43. Councilor Prairie moved approval, Councilor Sisneros seconded, and the council approved the payments unanimously.
