Community and Economic Development Director Michael Kloeppel presented requests for lodger's-tax funding for July 2022 totaling $39,800. The council voted unanimously to approve the allocations.
Approved allocations listed in the minutes include: Friends of Coronado Indian Arts Fiesta — $3,800 for advertising and sanitation; Town of Bernalillo 7th Annual Mountain West Brew Fest — $10,000 for advertising, police and fire protection and sanitation; Sandia Cluster Dog Show — $3,500; Town of Bernalillo Música y Mas — $5,000 for advertising and public-safety services; Coronado Little League State Tournament — $3,500 for advertising, safety services and capital improvements; and the Sheriff's Posse Rodeo — $14,000 for advertising and sanitation.
The council approved the funding by motion and unanimous roll-call vote. A representative of the Sandia Cluster Dog Show, Agnes Urban, used the public-comment period to thank the council and invite the community to the event.
