Bernalillo pins new police chief and lieutenant; council approves two officer hires

Judge Geoff Rinaldi administered the oath of office to Chris Stoyell and Bryan Dominguez at the Town of Bernalillo Governing Body meeting on June 27, 2022. Stoyell was pinned with his new chief badge by his wife and Dominguez was pinned by his girlfriend in a brief ceremony that preceded the council's business.
Human Resources Director Maria Santillan recommended two hires for the police department. The council approved the hiring of Anacaren Guzman and Anthony Trujillo as police officers after motions and seconding by council members; roll-call votes recorded unanimous yeas for each hire. The approvals appear consistent with the hiring committee recommendations presented by Santillan.
The meeting paused for about 15 minutes for family and friends to celebrate the promotions. No further personnel actions or conditions were recorded in the meeting minutes. The council then resumed its agenda items and moved on to financial and policy matters.
