Sikich gives Roselle a clean audit; trustees accept 2025 ACFR

Sikich auditors presented Roselle’s fiscal year 2025 audit, reporting an unmodified (clean) opinion on the village’s financial statements and noting no adjustments.
Brian LeFevers of Sikich told the board the report is preliminary pending final IMRF data recently received, but he said the audit would not change materially: "What you see in front of you is not going to change unless the finance department has any minor tweaks to the information." LeFevers noted the village’s long record of accurate reporting and said Roselle has received the GFOA Certificate of Achievement for 36 consecutive years and will apply for the 37th.
He reviewed pension GASB-funded metrics (IMRF 103% funded; police 66.2% and fire 79.9% on a GASB basis), the termination of the single-audit requirement for federal expenditures in 2025, and highlighted the general fund balance equal to roughly 46% of general fund expenditures as a favorable liquidity indicator.
Following the presentation, trustees moved to accept the FY2025 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR); the motion was seconded, the clerk called roll and the motion carried.
Staff said the finalized ACFR will support the village’s application for the GFOA award and will be used in next year’s budget and bondholder disclosures.
