Christian County Commission convenes special session, holds closed legal session under RSMo 610.021.1

The Christian County Commission met in a special session at the Historic Christian County Courthouse in Ozark on June 16, 2026, and established a quorum at 10:10 a.m.

Presiding Commissioner Lynn Morris read the notice of the special session and confirmed attendees including Western Commissioner Johnny Williams, Eastern Commissioner Bradley A. Jackson, Minutes Secretary Madi Hires and County Counselor Austin Fax. The commission approved the consent agenda, which consisted of the commission’s agenda for the day; there were no minutes or financial items to address. Western Commissioner Johnny Williams moved to approve the consent agenda and Eastern Commissioner Bradley A. Jackson seconded; the roll-call vote was unanimous.

Presiding Commissioner Morris then asked the commission to consider entering a closed session under RSMo 610.021.1, the statutory exception permitting closed meetings for legal actions, causes of action or privileged communications with the commission’s attorney. Western Commissioner Johnny Williams moved to enter closed session and Eastern Commissioner Bradley A. Jackson seconded. The roll-call vote recorded aye votes from Jackson, Morris and Williams, and the commission entered closed session at 10:10 a.m.

The commission returned to open session at 10:20 a.m. after a roll-call vote to exit closed session; Williams moved to exit and Jackson seconded, with the same three commissioners recorded as voting aye.
